A calm PSX research desk for Pakistani tip culture: understand a company and the board first, then optionally ask a coach or practise with fake PKR.
Use it to

When: CDC / broker book exists, but you cannot explain why you hold each name.
- Open My stocks. List ordinary shares and share counts you already hold.
- Add average cost if you know it - then you can see open P&L vs last print.
- Ask the coach to walk the book calmly. Open Research on any name that looks concentrated.
You leave with: A marked book (weights, concentration flags) plus questions to verify - not a sell list.

When: You understand a name but have never placed a market, limit, or stop.
- Open that company’s research page first (free).
- Open Practice. Place a tiny paper size at last print.
- Try a limit and a stop so you see resting orders - fills are at last, not a live matching engine.
You leave with: You know the workflow and fees story before a real broker ticket.

Home tip check
- When
- A WhatsApp / Telegram forward named a company.
- How
- Paste a ticker (HBL) or a sentence that contains one. If we recognise it, we open free company research first.
- Outcome
- You land on that company’s desk instead of buying from a screenshot.
- Limit
- Unknown or fake tickers will not invent a company. Special lines (rights / preference) open a special desk, not ordinary books.
PSX market today
- When
- You want session mood before opening any one name.
- How
- Read open/closed first, then breadth (how many rose vs fell), then % movers and busy names.
- Outcome
- You can say whether the board looks firm, soft, or noisy - in plain words.
- Limit
- Busy or rising is not “good stock.” After hours you are studying the last session, not live tips.
PSX stock list
- When
- You need to find a bank, oil, cement, or telco you already know.
- How
- Search by ticker, company name, or sector. Open one research page and stay there.
- Outcome
- You pick a familiar ordinary share instead of twenty random hot tips.
- Limit
- Rights / preference codes are special board lines - not missing listings and not the ordinary share.
Company research
- When
- You have one ticker and need price, chart, filings, and books if stored.
- How
- Start with price and chart → filings → profile → peers. “Books ready” means we stored statements to study - never a buy light.
- Outcome
- A single-company homework pack you can re-open later.
- Limit
- We never invent financials. Missing books get a checklist and filing links, not made-up sales or PAT.
PSX for beginners
- When
- Words on the board (breadth, volume, CDC, filings) still feel foreign.
- How
- Read the glossary and the four literacy habits, work a formula on the PSX calculators, then come back to market today and one research page.
- Outcome
- You can read the public pages without treating movers as tips.
- Limit
- This page is pedagogy, not the product funnel. Tip checks live on Home. How to use tools lives here on this guide.
Signed-in desks
Still educational. Each desk has a job - do not use Watchlist as a broker book or Practice as My stocks.
Ask (AI coach)
- When
- You already opened a company or the board and still have a plain-language question.
- How
- Open Ask. Pick a topic button or type. English or Urdu. Best after you have a ticker or a filing in mind.
- Outcome
- Next checks, caveats, and what to verify - educational literacy, not a buy/sell order.
- Limit
- The coach will not place trades, guarantee profits, or invent missing books. Fact-check PUCARS / company filings yourself.
Charts
- When
- You want last-close graphs for ordinary names, not a movers list.
- How
- Charts desk. Start from today’s busy names, add a ticker, pick 2 / 3 / 6 months. Open Research, Practice, or Ask from a card.
- Outcome
- A visual of daily closes - with live last when the tape socket is up.
- Limit
- Public DPS has no 1-minute or 5-minute candles. Graphs are educational, not signals.
Scanner
- When
- You want today’s up / down / busy / unusual tape as homework lists.
- How
- Scanner desk. Overview first, then a tab. Unusual tape is turnover vs that name’s own ~20d average - not “whales.”
- Outcome
- A short list of names to open on Research - not a ranking to buy.
- Limit
- A quiet unusual-tape list means the liquid sample did not clear the bar. That is a quiet tape, not a missing whale list.
Watchlist
- When
- You are studying names you may not own yet.
- How
- Save ordinary tickers, name the list, use live last for context. Open Research / Practice / Ask on a row.
- Outcome
- A list that comes back next session - homework, not broker alerts.
- Limit
- This is not My stocks (no share counts) and not Practice (no fake fills). Optional email digest is a recap, not a trade alert.
My stocks
- When
- You already hold ordinary shares in CDC / a broker account.
- How
- List ticker, shares, and average cost if you know it. The desk marks last print, PKR weight, and concentration flags.
- Outcome
- A picture of what you already own - so Ask and Research have a real book to talk about.
- Limit
- It does not buy, sell, or talk to your broker. Paper fills never change this book.
Practice (paper)
- When
- You want the buy / sell workflow with fake PKR.
- How
- Market fills at last print on refresh. Limit waits for your price. Stop-loss sells if last falls to your stop - checked every few seconds.
- Outcome
- Fees, open P&L, and resting orders you can cancel - before real capital.
- Limit
- Not a live matching engine and not a broker. My stocks is the real book. Practice never updates it.
Ask the coach - use cases
Best answers name a listed ticker, ask for checks, and follow Research. The coach will not place an order or invent missing books.
Fact-check a WhatsApp tip
When: A forward named a ticker and a guaranteed move.
“I'm new to PSX. Someone on WhatsApp said HBL is a sure profit. Help me fact-check calmly - what to read on the company desk, what would prove or disprove the claim, and why I should not rush. Not a buy tip.”
Then: Open that company’s research page first if you have not. The coach should give checks, not a buy.

When: You know nothing about the market and want a calm start.
“I know nothing about PSX yet. Give me a calm first-week homework plan - learn the words, read the market board, study one familiar company, and what to avoid as a beginner. No stock tips or buy lists.”
Then: Follow the plan on Learn, market today, and one familiar research page. Do not skip to twenty tickers.

When: You opened Research but the filing language is heavy.
“I'm new to PSX and don't know HBL yet. In plain words: what does this company do, why might today's price have moved, what are the main risks, and which PSX filings should I read before I trust a WhatsApp tip? Homework only - please don't tell me where to invest.”
Then: Stay on that ticker. Verify any sales / PAT against stored books or the named filing - never treat the chat as the source of numbers.

“I'm new to PSX. What is going on in the market today - in plain words? Is the board more up or down, what might be driving it, and what should a beginner study instead of chasing movers? Not a forecast to trade on.”
Then: Cross-check on PSX market today or Scanner. Treat “what could happen” as scenarios, not a forecast to trade.

Then: Prefer asking after My stocks is saved, so the desk has counts. Concentration flags are homework, not a sell ticket.

When: Scanner showed a name trading many times its own typical day.
“I'm new to PSX. ASTM looks unusually busy on the tape today. Explain in simple words what might be happening, how this compares to a normal day, and what I should verify in filings before getting excited. Not a buy tip.”
Then: Open that ticker’s filings. Unusual volume is a price event until books or notices say otherwise.

Then: Check breadth on market today. Do not dump or double from a chat. Practice is for workflow, not revenge trades.

Then: Treat this as literacy. Confirm with a qualified advisor / FBR / your scholar. You can also work illustrative numbers on the CGT and zakat calculators - not a filing.

Then: Use Practice for a fake fill at last. Work round-trip cost on the calculator first. Real broker / CDC fees can differ - verify on your statement.

Where should I start if I only have five minutes?
If you have a tip: Home tip check → that company page. If you don’t: PSX market today (open/closed + breadth). Glossary is on PSX for beginners when the words feel new.
Do I need an account?
No for market today, stock list, company research, and Learn. Sign in for Ask, Charts, Scanner, Watchlist, My stocks, and Practice.
How do I get a good answer from the AI coach?
Name a real listed ticker, ask for a beginner explanation or a fact-check, and say you want checks - not a buy. Open Research first when you can. Vague “which stock will double?” is the wrong question.
What does “Books ready” mean?
We stored statement periods for study. It is not a green light to buy. Thin or missing books means use filings and official reports - we will not invent the numbers.
Watchlist vs My stocks vs Practice?
Watchlist = names you are studying. My stocks = ordinary shares you already hold. Practice = fake PKR to learn market / limit / stop. They do not update each other.
Is this affiliated with PSX or SECP?
