Definition

Turnover is roughly how much money moved in PKR for the session - often related to price × volume, depending on the feed’s definition.

Purpose & when you need it

Purpose

Turnover sizes activity in money terms, not only share count - useful when prices differ a lot across names.

When you need it

Use beside volume. Missing turnover → study volume alone. Do not invent PKR.

Where it appears & why people look

Where

Live / market desks when the feed publishes turnover.

Why people look

People compare money moved across names so a high-priced share and a cheap share are not compared on share count alone.

Formula (simple)

Common homework form: turnover ≈ average trade price × volume (feed definitions vary). Prefer the exchange-published turnover when both exist.

Traps (tip culture)

High turnover can still be a short burst in a thin name. It is not proof of “smart money” or a tip.

FAQ

Is high turnover a buy signal?

No. It is an activity label. Open Books and Filings next.

Why might turnover and volume disagree in feel?

A low-priced share can print huge volume with modest PKR. A high-priced share the reverse.

What if turnover is blank?

We only show what the feed stored. Blank stays blank.
